Victory against the Coronavirus!

We will overcome all the odds, we will triumph!

A short poem on overcoming the Coronovirus that i wrote last year — July 2020. Today, in 2021, i can see that we have started to win over the virus — we now have vaccines, work in many parts of the world is going on as normal and economies have started crawling back to pre-Corono era. We shall overcome — we truly will!

As another day goes by,

I cannot help but think,

What have we gotten into,

Will the new reality ever sink?

Millions used to commute everyday,

National and international.

Forced to stay home and zoom,

For a reason beyond rationale.

It is a mutating virus, i am told,

Novel, the first of its kind.

Though lifeless, loves to spread,

Using our own receptors to bind.

We are all now exposed,

Emotions, health, finances and all,

The strong are still standing,

While the weak are quick to fall.

As we start to realize,

Many are the things we can do without,

Staying safe has become the motto,

While not letting gloom cloud our thoughts.

Wisdom also cheerfully points out,

What we always took for granted,

Clean air, true love and a healthy body,

Are now really, the most wanted!

Emerging strong from this phase,

Reinventing ourselves is the true need.

Which is the Wolf, despair or strength,

That you would like to feed?

We will triumph soon over this,

And this virus is not here to stay.

I pray that the wisdom learnt remains,

Having learnt lessons the hard way!
