Insensitivity – The one thing I would like to change in our current society

A man mentioned to his neighbour – “Horse is dead”. The neighbour remarked – oh ok. The men mentioned “Your horse is dead” and the neighbour went away wailing!

This original quote of mine should denote the high level of Insensitivity that is building up.

We are rapidly becoming a nation of insensitive people. We do not pause to think the repercussions from our actions, neither do we care about the inconvenience or pain caused to others.

1. A son of a politician does not worry about shooting the attendant at the toll plaza. **The operator paid the toll I guess.**
2. A highly educated software engineer does not think twice about jumping the red light at the traffic signal and crashing into an elderly who was zebra crossing. **Who is the real bug in the system?**
3. A celebrity does not care about rash driving and snuffing out poor souls. **Act hero, behave villain!**
4. A doctor under the Hippocratic oath does not hesitate to unnecessarily prolong treatment or prescribe drugs leading to deaths and financial burden. **Life takers, not savers!**
5. An established builder will cut corners and use inferior construction material leading to collapses of buildings and dreams. **Building and dashing hopes!**
6. A hotel room will short circuit an upcoming athlete to death. **Facilitating Early check-outs?**
7. A restaurant will pay minimal heed to hygiene and end up food-poisoning individuals. **Thank god, we don’t eat our own food!**
8. A thug will snatch away in 5 minutes, what it took an elderly couple to save and build for 50 years. **Why earn when you can rob?**
9. A teacher, who is supposed to be a second parent, will thrash a kid so much for a spelling mistake that the kid ceases to live to write anymore. **A mistake too big? A zero would have been better.**
10. Sons and daughters would like to be ‘independent’ and hence move away from aging parents when they actually need their help the most. **When it is time to hold the hand that was supporting us so far, we withdraw!**
11. A father figure headmaster or teacher will have his way with young girls and scar them for life as he couldn’t have his libido in check. **Lessons, for the victims?**
12. A high ranking religious leader will further his interests with women and kids instead of leading them to better spiritual lives. **Lives changed, for the worse.**
13. A policeman will collect money from both parties to boost his income rather than doing his duty. **Double income, no justice!**
14. We are so careful about littering when outside India, but here we spit and litter at will! **After all, we have garbage pockets and cleaners working for us!**
15. We do not think twice about slandering someone or assassinating someone’s character on social media, oblivious to the hurt it would cause to the person and his family. **WhatsApp and Facebook universities doling out unverified facts that we spread without thinking!**

Let’s be sensitive, let’s be human!
