Getting a SCAM email from ‘Netflix’!
How to prevent getting scammed? Tell-tale signs that can help you from getting scammed!
Yesterday i received a ‘Payment Declined’ email from Netflix. Yesterday was actually the date for my subscription renewal as well, so i thought of having a look at the email.
This is what i received:

Check the from e-mail address:
In this case, the domain wasn’t a Netflix one, instead it said support@fairwrite.com!! An easy giveaway that this email is to be reported for spam and not to be taken seriously. Netflix or for that matter any of the companies will always operate under their own domain e-mails.
Other giveaways:
The language is usually pathetic, trampling underfoot grammar and sentence structures!
Also do a mouse-hover over the ‘payment/update link’ and notice the URL that it refers to — this will also be an incorrect domain!
The profile icon is something funny as well and is not the logo, branding image of the company!
So, a simple list of checks will ensure that you do not fall prey to such emails/messages:
- The ‘from’ email address
- Profile picture
- Links used in the message body
- Language and presentation
And yes — just know this: Card information will never be requested by emails or calls.

As you see — pretty easy to spot the differences.
Take care — exercise caution and follow a set of simple checks. Do not ever reveal your card or payment information over the phone or through emails — Companies or banks do not ask for them that way!
